Arts and crafts bookcase

THIS BOOKCASE is made of walnut, with a Danish Oil and wax finish. The top and bottom shelves are fixed with tenons; the other shelves are adjustable, held by pins. It is 50 inches high by 33 inches wide.
I was not entirely happy with the way this turned out. To make the panels for the sides, I joined the boards by hand, and I had never joined boards quite that long before. Anything longer than three feet becomes difficult to square up evenly with a hand plane. This was also the first time I had made open tenons like these, and I didn't get them quite right.
It's still a good, solid, attractive piece of furniture, though, and making it was a useful learning experience.
